Funky Grooves is a powerful package of unique new loops and samples with a dirty, funky vibe which is suitable for breakbeat, funk, fusion and alt rock styles of music. Like with many sound libraries though, it can be used in a very wide array of musical variations. The bundle contains 456 loops and 300 samples for a total of 1.5GB of content – ranging from complex polyrhythmic grooves to basic drum beats and “no-kick” loops. The included samples are organized and labeled for easy usage in kits and should be organized basically to be easy to browse through and not get lost in a trail of folders.

Included Content

Funky Grooves contains 456 drum loops arranged in 80, 90 and 100 BPM tempos, and have been arranged and orchestrated with no use of actual quantizing, but were designed by hand, including all hit offsets and humanization. No type of randomization was used whatsoever. All content has been edited to make sure both start and end points end on zero-crossing to avoid any and all clicks, pops and unwanted artifacts. The loops are split up between kit-specific loops (291), “no-kick” style loops (165), and “mixed” process loops (45). No processing has been applied, except for saturation, which was provided courtesy of our own MixControl Pro mixing plug-in, which provides a sound that is just as authentic as other big name companies’ “fat” and “warm” processing plug-ins, or even hardware.

Funky Grooves also contains 300 individual drum hits, which were used to create the loops you hear in the demo sounds below. Additionally, the package includes 20 MIDI templates used to create the loops, 15 SFZ drum kit maps which coincide with the kit loops, and an entire Ableton Live (8.2+) pack, filled with MIDI clips and all 15 instrument racks filled with the samples in Funky Grooves. The individual hits were also treated to the same saturation technique as the loops, and are categorized as follows:
